METAIRIE, La. – Health continues to trend in the right direction for the New Orleans Saints ahead of their Week 15 bout with the Carolina Panthers. One day after getting starting right tackle Taliese Fuaga back at practice, starting safety Justin Reid went from observing on Wednesday to participating on Thursday.
Reid’s return could be just in time, should he find his way back to the lineup on Sunday. Panthers’ wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan has been one of the best downfield threats all season long, and having the starting tandem of safeties back could be massively beneficial for New Orleans when it comes to defending him.
While Reid was back to participating, here are the players that were not spotted during the open portion of practice on Thursday:
RB Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle)
T Asim Richards (ankle)
DT Davon Godchaux (likely rest)
With Kamara trending to be out again this week, the Saints’ run game will turn back to young rushers out of the backfield. The team started to find momentum with the young trio of Devin Neal, Audric Estime and Evan Hull.
