Kamara named Offensive Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – After an electrifying Week 2 performance, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week, the team announced on Wednesday morning via press release.
This honor marks the third time that Kamara, a two-time Associated Press All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowl selection, has captured NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
The Saints running back piled up 115 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns along with a 57-yard screen catch and run for another score. Kamara has been revitalized in New Orleans’ new offensive system implemented by offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.
Kamara is also up for the FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week. If he continues the stellar performance that he’s showcased to start the season, only more accolades will be on his way. Kamara currently leads the NFL with four rushing touchdowns and has amassed 198 rushing yards. the most he has gained in the opening two games of a season in his career. His 290 yards from scrimmage leads the league.
