It wasnโt easy, but the New Orleans Saints are now 6-10 after a 34-26 win over the 3-13 Tennessee Titans in what was a true battle between two rookie quarterbacks, the Saintsโ Tyler Shough and the Titansโ Cam Ward.
The Story
This one felt like an early season Saints game in which the second-half performance massively outperformed the first half, but the team still found ways to let the self-inflicted wounds creep up.ย
There was an inability to run the ball early, more explosive passing plays surrendered by the defense than in the last three games combined, ill-timed penalties and a fumble on an otherwise incredible catch and run touchdown by wide receiver Dante Pettis.
The difference this time around? An offense that caught its stride late behind rookie quarterback Shough, running back Audric Estime and pass-catchers Juwan Johnson and Chris Olave.
After going into halftime down 20-10, the Saints piled on 24 points in the second half to reach their highest scoring total (34) since Week 11 last year against the Cleveland Browns (35). New Orleans has now won more games this year than last, despite all of the injuries and players the team has been without.
A comeback victory for Shough and head coach Kellen Moore is just the latest entry in the real momentum New Orleans is building heading into 2026.
