LSU’s defense is keeping its captain.
Whit Weeks announced on his Instagram page Thursday that he will be returning in 2026.
“College Football is too hard to leave, and there is no better place in the country to be right now than Baton Rouge, Louisiana. All I want to do is ball in the purple and gold. See you in September,” Weeks wrote.

After a breakout sophomore season that earned him first-team All-SEC honors in 2024, Weeks only appeared in eight games in 2024 while dealing with a broken foot he suffered at Ole Miss. His tackle total shrunk from 125 as a sophomore to 31.
The 6-foor-2, 225 lbs., linebacker becomes the anchor to Blake Bakers defense looking to build on the improvements made in 2025 while losing key pieces like Mansoor Delane, AJ Haulcy, Jacobian Guillory and others.
This will be Weeks’s final year of eligibility.
