TaRon Francis will leave LSU before making a catch in purple and gold.
Chris Hummer from 247sports is reporting the Edna Karr product will enter the transfer portal after one season in Baton Rouge. Francis was a four-star recruit in the 2025 class and played in five games without a catch. He was the No. 20 wide receiver in the cycle.
LSU true freshman WR TaRon Francis plans to enter the portal, his rep @agentkobi of @AtlasEmpower tells @mzenitz and me.

LSU is losing significant production at the position following 2025 and has already explored multiple transfer portal options. Hawaii’s Jackson Harris became LSU’s first portal commitment on Sunday.
Francis made some flashy plays in fall camp but was blocked from the field by upperclassmen. He’ll have four seasons of eligibility left as the Texas Bowl does not count against the four game-limit on redshirts.
Nic Anderson and Phillip Wright remain the only wide receivers rostered at LSU who aren’t in the transfer portal or headed to the NFL draft.
