Cole was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 236 overall. During his rookie season he saw eight game appearances where he had eight tackles including one for a loss. In 2025, he spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals on their practice squad for seven weeks.
The Texas Tech product overlapped with quarterback Tyler Shough for two seasons, but started his collegiate career in Louisiana as a member for Louisiana-Monroe. He played in 58 total career games in college grabbing 86 tackles, five sacks and 12 tackles for a loss. He also contributed on special teams.
Cole impressed at the NFL Combine running a 4.69-second 40-yard-dash while measuring in at 6-foot-6 and 278 pounds with 37-inch arms.
With free agency still a couple of months away, the Saints have been scouring opportunities to add talent to their training camp roster. The Cole addition places him in a room alongside defensive ends Chase Young, Carl Granderson and Fadil Diggs with the possible returns of Cameron Jordan and Chris Rumph III still possible.
