The 2026 NCAA transfer portal opened Friday, Jan 2 and will close on Friday night at 11:00 p.m. CST. Players are free to commit beyond the deadline, but they cannot enter.
By the Numbers
As of Thursday, over 4,000 players have entered the portal. That includes 3,204 players at the FBS level. Ninety-one more entered on Thursday.
Only 57 percent of the players in the portal have signed or committed to a school.
The SEC and LSU puts a stamp on their final day
Lane Kiffin won the day on Friday. The Tigers added five more players from the portal including two in the top 100.
The SEC, as a whole, had a huge day. Over 30 players committed or signed with SEC schools.

These numbers will fluctuate rapidly, but here are the total players that have entered the portal for each SEC team according to 247Sports as of Friday, Jan. 16, at 6:00 p.m. CT.
An eye-popping 421 players from the SEC have entered the portal, and 326 players have committed and/or signed with SEC teams.
