That was a long week.
Seaton flew to Baton Rouge. He stayed. He didn’t fly to Eugene. He flew to Atlanta. Lane Kiffin flew to Atlanta. Dan Lanning flew to Atlanta. Then we waited.
Ultimately, Jordan Seaton chose LSU, and he becomes the bow on perhaps the best transfer portal haul ever. That may be proven to be hyperbole. Right now, it’s reasonable.
LSU added 42 players including the No. 1 quarterback, No. 1 edge rusher and now the No. 1 OT. On3 says that’s three of the top five players who transferred. Behind quarterback, left tackle was as important a need to fill on the roster.
It’s filled.
WHAT WE KNOW
Seaton was a five-star plus prospect coming out of IMG Academy. He was a top six player nationally by every service and the top tackle by three of the four.
Ohio State, Alabama, Oregon and just about everyone wanted him. Deion Sanders won out in a shocker.
From day one, Seaton was the Colorado left tackle. He’s 6-foot-5 and 330 lbs., and he can really move.
He played 860 snaps as a true freshman. According to Pro Football Focus, he allowed three sacks in 612 pass blocking sets protecting Shadeur Sanders. He was flagged for 14 penalties.
As a sophomore, he cleaned the penalties up, only drawing four flags. He was also an anchor in the passing game. His season-long grade was 84.1 in pass protection. For perspective, Will Campbell’s was 80.6.
Jordan Seaton is going to be heavily talked about all offseason, and is a HUGE get for LSU
Excellent in pass protection. Great hands, his kick slide is fantastic, and I love the athleticism he brings with his size

His run blocking grades have not been as high. He graded 62.0 as a freshman and 52.0 as a sophomore.
In a “way too early” 2027 draft preview, ESPN named Seaton a top three tackle in next year’s draft.
THE FIT
The fit couldn’t be any better. LSU has lured in some solid talent on the offensive line, but none of it was proven at left tackle. Seaton has never played anything else.
In a league dripping with terrifying edge rushers, Seaton is the best possible option for Kiffin at left tackle. The rest of the pieces fit around him.
Braelin Moore will be the center. So, the two most impactful pieces of LSU’s offensive line are set. That’s huge. Aliou Bah has significant starting experience at guard. He probably takes one spot. Sean Thompkins from Baylor and Devin Harper from Ole Miss may compete for the other spot. Weston Davis is the incumbent at right tackle.
There are others in the mix, but all of a sudden that LSU offensive line looks rather stout.
We know what Kiffin is able to do with quarterbacks and skill players, but none of it works without a capable front. Now he has one.
HUNT’S PROJECTION
Seaton steps in at left tackle and plays the position as well as any player in college football. I think he’s a preseason All-SEC pick, a post-season All-SEC pick and a top 15 pick in the NFL Draft next spring.
He’s that good.
Without Seaton, LSU would have had to play someone slightly out of position on the offensive front. Now the pieces fit together thanks to the best available option that Kiffin worked tirelessly to reel in.
