LSU’s first brush with the College Sports Commission was a quick one.
LSU Deputy Athletic Director for External Affair Zach Greenwell released a statement Monday evening regarding Friday’s report that LSU was under investigation by the CSC.
“The CSC inquiry into non-reporting has been resolved with no disciplinary action, and any deals that require submission to NIL Go have been submitted. We appreciate the CSC’s prompt review and resolution,” said Greenwell.

A report from The Athletic Friday revealed the CSC’s investigation via email correspondence made available through public records request. Sources confirmed to LouisianaSports.net that the LSU football program was not involved.
The CSC was formed in 2025 to create guardrails for compensation to student-athletes through Name, Image and Likeness deals. LSU, along with a number of other athletic department, received an inquiry regarding unreported deals.
