Hear me out…
The South Carolina women have beaten LSU 18 times in a row. This LSU team is built to beat them, and is arguably deeper than South Carolina. The game earlier this year ended in a seven point difference with South Carolina winning 79-72. That was in front of a sold out PMAC, and what is probably the most hostile environment anyone has played in all season. This time around they’re meeting in Greenville, SC. That’s not exactly a home game, but it isn’t too far away. Take the Gamecocks until Kim Mulkey and the Tigers can prove otherwise.
Alabama, Tennessee and Missouri both all home games with a lot on the line. I like all three to win and think Alabama will run Auburn out of the gym. The other two will be much closer. The good news for Missouri, who currently sits as a 10 seed in the latest bracketology, is that Darius Acuff Jr is out for Arkansas. Missouri is 15-2 at home this season, so we are rolling with the Tigers.
Then there’s Tennessee who is 14-2 at home this season. They get the best Vanderbilt team they’ve faced at home in quite some time. The Commodores are 10-4 on the road this season, but Tennessee needs this win to keep their hopes of being a 4 Seed in the tournament alive.
Last but not least we have two teams on the road who desperately need wins to solidify their spot in the tournament. Texas A&M is the lock of the week going on the road to face a horrible LSU team. There’s definitely talent on the Tigers squad, but Texas A&M has beaten the teams they’re supposed to beat all season. That won’t change today in front of what I can only assume are dozens of fans inside the PMAC.
