Edge rusher has been a big need for the New Orleans Saints this offseason and now a little help is on its way back to the city.
The Saints announced Thursday afternoon that the club has re-signed defensive end Chris Rumph II.

The deal is a one-year agreement, LouisianaSports.Net has learned.
The defensive end played all 17 games for the Saints last year, contributing both as a rotational piece in defense and core special teamer. Rumph recorded career highs in numerous categories including combined tackles (35), tackles for a loss (three) and social team’s stops (19).
Rumph continues his playing experience alongside Saints defensive coordinator Brandon Staley. The two first joined forces with the Los Angeles Chargers where Staley was the head coach. The team drafted Rumph in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
The former Duke Blue Devils pass rusher adds more depth and another special teams asset to the roster. More specifically, one with experience in both systems as he returns with the Saints’ coaching staff intact.
