Even after landing several impactful free agency signings this offseason, the New Orleans Saints are in great position to do even more.
With over $13 million estimated to be still available, the team could look to bring in at least one more mid-level (financially speaking) signing that could further improve its roster.
Wide receiver, cornerback and edge rusher are each positions that could see more attention ahead of the NFL Draft and some decent names remain available.
Free agents like wide receiver Jauan Jennings, cornerback Mike Hilton (pending injury recovery) and edge rusher Joe Tyron-Shoyinka are all players that could at least add to the team’s rotation.
With less than $10 million needed to sign the upcoming rookie class, the Saints are in position to do more should they choose.
It doesn’t stop at the draft either. Adding late free agents has proven to be a fruitful endeavor for New Orleans in the past. And the Saints also have something at their disposal that they’ve not had in many years.
New Orleans has a surplus in available cap space next year.
Despite the Saints having the third-most players under contract in 2027 (47), the team still has a projected $76 million in available spending next year, per Over The Cap.
Not only can the Saints continue to make moves this year, they’re in prime position to keep building and spending big in future offseasons.
