One of the top wide receiver prospects in this year’s NFL Draft has made his way to the Big Easy for a pre-draft visit with the New Orleans Saints.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, USC wideout Makai Lemon is visiting the Saints Tuesday, the same day the organization is hosting the Tulane and Local Pro Days.
He is one of the Saints’ several reported pre-draft visits with wide receivers. The position has been a popular one for New Orleans to get a detailed look at before next month’s selection process.
Lemon, who reeled in 79 receptions for 1,156 receiving yards and 11 touchdown catches in 2025, is expected to be one of the first at his position off the board this year. His physical play style, contested catch ability and separation generation have all lifted him to near the top of the class. He is likely to be among those in consideration at No. 8 overall for the team.
The wideout’s measurements make him a bit of an outlier, ranking below the 30th percentile in the height, weight, wingspan, arm length and hand size categories, per Mockdraftable.
Despite that, Lemon has proven to be one of the best pass-catchers and playmakers in this year’s draft class.
He may have made an awkward impression during his Combine media availability, but media training is a part of the process. Lemon’s football skills, which teams are likely far more conserved with, are undeniable on tape and many of which require traits that simply can’t be taught.
