Wide receiver has been a noticeable focus for the New Orleans Saints as the team approaches the NFL Draft. With several top-30 visits and private workouts being dedicated to the position, it’s becoming a foregone conclusion that the team will likely invest in a pass-catcher in this year’s selection process.
However, drafting at No. 8 overall put the Saints in a curious position. If the team decides to pass on the top trio of wideouts, they and a number of other talented receiving options could be selected before New Orleans’ next pick at No. 42 in the second round.
With that in mind, here’s a look at some of the second wave of wide receivers that the Saints could miss out on after the class’s top-three wideouts Carnell Tate, Jordyn Tyson and Makai Lemon are selected.
If any of these players were to fall to the second round, they could end up being impactful steals for the team.
Washington WR Denzel Boston
The 6-foot-4, 209 pound wideout is a quintessential X-receiver that can line up out wide and bring in some big wins in contested catch, red zone situations. He reeled in 76.8% of his contested catch opportunities in 2025. He’d fit in very well with Chris Olave and Devaughn Vele’s versatility.
Texas A&M WR KC Concepcion
A game-breaker with the ball in his hands, Concepcion is a “just add quarterback” kind of player that can instantly add to any offense. He won’t be an outside receiver at the next level, but he is the kind of player that teams spend a lot of time searching for and wishing they could add to their offense. He also brings playmaking ability as a returner on the special teams side.
Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr.
With 13 receiving touchdowns in 2025 while playing opposite fellow draft-eligible wideout Elijah Sarrat, who had 15 on his own last year, shows just how effective he can be as a complementary piece in the Saints’ offense. His combination of NFL size and top-end speed (4.42 second 40-yard dash) are both elements of the position New Orleans could stand to continue to add.
