The 2025 season was a disappointment for LSU, but the 2026 NFL Draft will erase some of those sour memories for former Tigers embarking on their professional careers.
It started with Mansoor Delane’s No. 6 overall selection by Kansas City on Thursday. Friday, AJ Haulcy and Zavion Thomas joined the party in third round. Haulcy was taken by Indianapolis, and Thomas went to Chicago.
Plenty of LSU prospects remain as Day 3 begins on Saturday. We’ll keep you posted on the picks from Pittsburgh.
ROUND 1
No. 6 (Kansas City): Mansoor Delane – DBU latest export capped a brilliant All-American season with an early first round selection that Kansas City traded up to make.
ROUND 3
No. 78 (Indianapolis): AJ Haulcy – Haulcy shined in his only season at LSU finishing second on the team in tackles and first in interceptions. He heads to Indianapolis.
No. 89 (Chicago): Zavion Thomas – In a bit of a surprise, Thomas went first among LSU offensive prospects. Chicago targeted the speedy and versatile playmaker for his offensive ability and special teams prowess.
ROUND 6
No. 186 (Tampa Bay) Bauer Sharp – Sharp started his career as a quarterback at Southeastern Louisiana before moving on to Oklahoma and then LSU as a tight end. He’s got good size and athleticism.
No. 190 (New Orleans) Barion Brown – The Saints are looking for wide receiver help. They get speed and playmaking with Brown from LSU. He can also help in the kick return game where he returned six for scores, one shy of the NCAA record.
No. 215 (Atlanta) Harold Perkins Jr – Perk is headed to Atlanta where the Falcons will try to unlock his freakish athleticism. Perkins has played on the edge, inside at linebacker and in the slot at STAR. He’s a bit undersized to rush the passer, but he can make plays in space.
SEVENTH ROUND
No. 249 (Kansas City) Garrett Nussmeier – Few thought he would have to wait until the seventh round, but that was Nussmeier’s fate. He’ll come in and compete with former Saints backup Jake Haener behind Patrick Mahomes. Nussmeier lands with a championship organization alongside Mansoor Delane.
