Texas A&M and everyone else
I’m not sure if you’ve checked in on what Texas A&M is building in this next class, but it’s quite astounding. As of today, they have 13 commitments in their class and 12 of the 13 are blue chips. That includes four five star players already. The scary part is not what they have in the fold already; it’s what they could end up with. They currently lead, by an overwhelming amount, for five other five stars in the current On3 player rankings. They hold commitments or lead for 14 top 100 players. That would give them one of the best recruiting classes in history.
I know what you’re thinking – we’ve seen this before. That’s fair. We have seen this before. Jimbo Fisher signed the highest ranked class in recruiting history less than five years ago and proceeded to squander it away. They had eight or nine five stars in that class and couldn’t win more than seven games. There’s concern on how schools can hold onto players like this with the transfer portal and rampant tampering. Still, this is an incredibly impressive start to the 2027 class for Mike Elko and his staff.
Texas A&M is trending toward adding multiple five-star prospects to its No. 1 recruiting class, @SWiltfong_ reports 👍
“They continually tell me that if I commit, this could be the best DB class signed in school history.”

Kalen DeBoer, 5 Star QB Whisperer
Kalen DeBoer has received a ton of criticism in his first two years at Alabama. Some of it fair, some of it pretty stupid. The one thing most people around the southeast were confident in when he was first hired was his inability to recruit, especially in the deep south. How would a dude from the Dakotas who coached at Fresno State and Washington compete on the recruiting trail with heavy hitters in the SEC?
Pretty well, apparently. That was the answer we were looking for though none of us expected. Last week DeBoer got a commitment from the No. 1 quarterback in the country Elijah Haven from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It wasn’t a coup over LSU despite Haven’s hometown. It was still a massive commitment for Alabama, and DeBoer who won his sweepstakes over Kirby Smart and Georgia. More importantly that is the third five star quarterback he’s signed or landed in the last three years. That’s pretty good for an outsider who can’t recruit.

Shane Beamer Cooking
There’s a chance that this could be a program-changing weekend for Shane Beamer and South Carolina. They are hosting a dozen players this weekend and are on commitment watch for nearly half of them. They’ve already picked up two commitments this week including one on Wednesday from top 100 players John Archer. Usually May and June is when most schools do the majority of their damage for gathering recruits in their respective classes. According to Chad Simmons from On3/Rivals, Beamer could do a lot of damage in the next few days.
NEWS: 4-star DL John Archer has been a major target for South Carolina for over a year, and he has committed to the Gamecocks.
