The Saints have now lost three major pieces on offense with wide receiver Rashid Shaheed out for the season following a knee surgery and wideout Chris Olave not expected to return this season after suffering a pair of concussions. New Orleans will now be without Hill who does a little bit of everything all over the team’s offensive and special teams units.
Taysom Hill took 324 total snaps for the #Saints in 2024 per PFF. His roles in those snaps include but are not limited to:

The list of injuries continues to pile on for New Orleans who also spent several games without starting quarterback Derek Carr and have been without starting center Erik McCoy for the majority of the year as well.
As tough as it has been to find consistent and reliable fill-ins for those roles this season, Hill’s long list of contributions will require impact from multiple players across the roster.
In each of the last two games, Hill has been among the most targeted players in the passing game and has been one of two primary options, along with running back Alvin Kamara, on the ground.
Team sources tell LouisianaSports.Net that there is optimism the Saints will get second-year running back Kendre Miller back next weekend against the New York Giants. If that goes to plan, he will be relied upon heavily to aid in the team’s rushing attack along with Kamara.
Other players at tight end, wide receiver and on special teams will also have to step up to help fill the void.
Hill’s is also now in question. He has one year left on his contract, meaning the Saints could keep him around through 2025. But depending on the rehabilitation process, new coaching staff and other factors that will play out this offseason, Hill’s role and time with the Saints will be one of the most intriguing storylines to follow.
