Florida defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong is reportedly leaving Florida to take the same role with the University of Houston.
Armstrong was named the defensive coordinator in Gainesville two years ago becoming one of the youngest coordinators in the country. After a disappointing end to the 2023 season, Billy Napier hired Ron Roberts from Auburn to become co-defensive coordinator.
Florida finished the season ranked 62nd in the country in scoring defense allowing 24.3 ppg. The Gators were fantastic over their last three games recording 18 sacks and finishing 3-0 against LSU, Ole Miss and Florida State.
