Alabama defensive coordinator will not return in 2025

Alabama will part ways with defensive backs coach and co-defensive coordinator Colin Hitschler.
The news came Friday morning via ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Sources: Alabama co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Colin Hitschler has been informed he will not return to the Crimson Tide next year. He has a year remaining on his initial two-year contract.

Alabama finished No. 9 in the country in scoring defense and No. 19 total defense. However, they also had several big lapses defensively this season including back-to-back games to Georgia and Vanderbilt where they gave up 40 points to the Commodores and needed a last second interception to avoid the biggest blown lead in program history against the Bulldogs.
Hitschler had one year remaining on his initial two-year contract.
