Alabama, Ole Miss tumble in updated AP Poll
The Week 14 AP Poll has been released, and eight SEC teams found a spot.
After Alabama and Ole Miss lost to unranked teams on Saturday there are only three SEC teams ranked in the Top 10 which is the lowest all season. However, Texas, Georgia and Tennessee are Top 7 teams.
There weren’t a ton of surprises with the rankings outside of the Top 10. Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas A&M each dropped at least five spots after losses while South Carolina climbed to No. 16 after their win against Mercer. Missouri stayed at No. 24 after their convincing win in Starkville over Mississippi State.
If there’s one team or fan base that feels like they’re ranked too low, it’s South Carolina, The Gamecocks are currently ranked at No. 16 which does indeed feel too low. They currently have the longest active win streak in the SEC at five games. However, they are ranked behind two teams they lost to on the field, so it appears the voters made that a point of emphasis this week.
