On Monday, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer updated the injury status of redshirt sophomore Keon Sabb. The Michigan transfer hadn’t played since the Tennessee game, and it appears he won’t play for the remainder of the season as well.

“As far as a timeline, I can’t give that to you right now,” DeBoer said during his weekly press conference. “I know it will obviously be through this season. But we expect him back and ready to roll for next year, of course. He had his surgery and was away from us for a few days there. But he’s just a guy that really has grown relationships with the team. We want him around here. He’s one of those guys, just like the others that are done for the year too, that care so much about this team and we care about him.”

Despite missing the last three games, Sabb is still fourth on the team with 39 tackles. He also intercepted two passes.

Alabama has now lost three starters to suffer a season-ending injuries in as many weeks, with Sabb joining Que Robinson and Cole Adams.

Sabb will have two years of eligibility remaining because of the Covid year. Sophomore Bray Hubbard will continue to serve as his replacement at safety in the secondary.
