Auburn adds four-star WR, son of former first round pick

Auburn landed a commitment from 2026 wide receiver Devin Carter Saturday. He made his announcement at the Navy All-American Bowl, picking the Tigers over a bevy of other SEC schools during the broadcast.

Carter is a consensus four-star recruit and ranked in the Top 125 nationally across every major recruiting platform. He held over 30 offers from premiere programs around the country but chose Auburn over Alabama, LSU, and Georgia. Carter the son of former NFL first round pick Dexter Carter.
“That’s the program for me because of what Coach Freeze is doing on The Plains with Coach (Marcus) Davis as the receivers coach. I feel like they’re developing something special over there,” said the younger Carter.
With the addition of Carter, Auburn jumped three spots to the No. 6 class in the 2026 team rankings according to the On3 industry composite.
