Carson Beck commits to Miami less than 24 hours after entering portal

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck has chosen his next destination, committing to Miami, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.
Beck made the announcement early Friday afternoon, less than 24 hours after entering the transfer portal. He initially announced plans to enter the NFL Draft but decided to enter the portal to keep his options open for next season. He entered the portal with a “do not contact” tag and, as of now, appears to be following a similar path to Cam Ward.
Ward, after his junior season at Washington State, initially declared for the draft last spring but later entered the portal and committed to Miami. Following a strong season in Coral Gables, Ward is now projected as a first-round pick and has generated buzz as a potential top-five overall selection.
Beck has a 24-4 career record as a starter, with 7,912 passing yards and 58 touchdowns. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
