CFP quarterfinal spreads released

By Chris Marler
The second round betting lines for the College Football Playoff have been released, and Vegas at least thinks the this round will be more competitive than the last.
The opening round did not have a single game with less than a touchdown point spread. In fact, the lowest point spread was Ohio State by -7.5 against Tennessee, and that game ended in a 25-point blowout for the Buckeyes.
The second round games feature only two double digit point spreads with two more opening at less than a field goal for the favored team.
The quarterfinals move away from college campuses and into the more familiar neutral site settings that we are accustomed to in the postseason. The four games will be played in what have traditionally been the New Year’s Six Bowls like the Rose, Peach, Sugar, and Fiesta Bowls.
Here’s a look at the opening lines for those games.
The Fiesta Bowl
Penn State at Boise State
The Line: Penn State -10.5
The Peach Bowl
Texas at Arizona State
The Line: Texas -14
The Rose Bowl
Ohio State at Oregon
The Line: Ohio State -2.5
The Sugar Bowl
Notre Dame at Georgia
The Line: Georgia -1.5
