Chris Olave’s brother slams Saints on social media, ‘ain’t worth it’

By Ross Jackson
CHARLOTTE, NC – It has been an eventful day for the New Orleans Saints as they hold a narrow lead over the Carolina Panthers. After exiting the game following a scary hit up high led to star wide receiver Chris Olave being carted off the field on a backboard, things have heated up even more off the field.
After sharing a positive update, Olave’s brother Josh has joined several critical social media posts about starting quarterback Derek Carr and the Saints themselves. In this latest post, Olave’s brother suggests that staying and competing in New Orleans “ain’t worth it” for the first round pick.

The post was in response to a fan suggesting that Olave should consider whether or not continuing his football career was “worth it.”
This may very well just be the emotion of the moment, this whole situation was very scary for a while. Despite the good news and updates that Olave is up and moving after being unconscious on the field and tended to for several minutes, it is clear that there is frustration not just with the isolated incident, but potentially with the team’s current situation.
New Orleans is in a dogfight with the NFL’s worst team in Carolina coming off the heels of a six-game losing streak. The Saints currently hold a four percent chance to make the playoffs and their public comments would have you believe that no leadership changes are on the way.
Obviously Olave’s brother’s comments are not the same as the player himself trying to force his way out. But if things don’t turn around quickly for the Saints, these types of comments and outlooks will only increase, both in volume and intensity.
Whether or not Olave feels the same way is unlikely to be seen any time soon. Right now, his No. 1 priority should be on his health. The receiver has suffered four concussions in his NFL career after a pair in college. He was also checked for one in the team’s Week 8 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
