CJ Weinstein commits to LSU baseball

Jay Johnson and the LSU baseball program reeled in another talented commitment on Monday.
Left-handed hitting shortstop CJ Weinstein from Huntington Beach, Calif., announced via social media that he was joining the 2026 LSU signing class. In October, Baseball America dubbed Weinstein the No. 6 ranked uncommitted prospect in the class.
As a sophomore, Weinstein suffered a scary eye injury when a line drive hit him the face. He was able to return to baseball activities in the fall after six weeks away to recover from surgery.
