Derek Carr exits Saints win with injury
By Ross Jackson
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Just one week after losing star offensive weapon Taysom Hill for the season, the New Orleans Saints are now managing another major injury. This time to their starting quarterback Derek Carr.
During the fourth quarter against the New York Giants, Derek Carr took a surprise read option to the right sideline. As he neared the out of bounds area, he leapt in an attempt to pick up the second-and-nine first down.
In doing so, he looked to come down hard to the turf on his left arm. He tended to on the sidelines after not getting up to his feet. Carr remained on the ground for an extended period of time. He would eventually find his way to the injury tent before eventually exiting the field without his helmet in hand.
Carr will be evaluated for a concussion with an update coming after the game. LouisianaSports.Net is also told that he has a hand injury as well.
