ESPN’s FPI strength of schedule updated
11/13/2024
With the new College Football Playoff rankings being released Tuesday, team resumès will be a hot topic. Perhaps the most important talking point that will be brought outside of wins and losses will be the strength of schedule for each contending team.
For instance, as it stands right now Indiana has the second-best odds to make the College Football Playoff at 93 percent, but through 10 games the Hoosiers have played a strength of schedule ranked No. 100 in all of FBS. To many, an 11-1 with a poor strength of schedule may not measure up to a 10-2 team with more difficult schedule.
The SEC’s schedule strength continues to stand out. Eight total teams from the conference have a strength of schedule currently ranked in the Top 10. That’s half of the conference.
Georgia remains in the top spot where they have been for several weeks this season. There won’t be any letup in difficulty this weekend as they playa Top 10 Tennessee team Saturday in what could be another playoff elimination game in the SEC.
Here’s where every SEC team currently stands in strength of schedule rankings from ESPN FPI.
