Florida loses fourth edge rusher to transfer portal

Florida sophomore edge rusher TJ Searcy has announced he will enter the transfer portal.
he 6-foot-5, 260 lbs, former four-star informed Billy Napier and the Gators staff of his decision Tuesday morning.
Searcy played in all 12 games for Florida this season. He finished the year with 34 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, and two sacks. Searcy is now the fourth edge rusher on the Gators 2024 roster to enter the portal.
“We wish TJ nothing but the best, and maybe we’re not done there, we will see. But just think it’s a product of the world we’re living in,” head coach Billy Napier said in a press conference Tuesday. “TJ has done a great job for us. He’s been a productive player. He’s done a good job off the field. He’s really grown up a lot, proud of him and nothing but respect for him.”
There’s no word yet on whether or not he will play in Friday’s Gasparilla Bowl against Tulane.
