Former five-star Nwaneri enters the portal

Williams Nwaneri has entered the transfer portal after one season at Missouri.
The 6-foot-7, 265 lbs., edge defender was the No. 7 overall player and No. 1 edge rusher in the class of 2023 when he inked with the Tigers. He played in four games in 2024 and made two tackles including a sack.
Nwaneri signed with current LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker and edge rushers coach Kevin Peoples when the duo was a on staff at Missouri. Following the departures of Bradyn Swinson, Sai’vion Jones and DeShaun Womack, LSU will likely target multiple edge defenders in the portal this month.
Nwaneri will use 2024 as a redshirt season and will have four years of eligibility remaining.
