Former Saints cornerback elected to Pro Football Hall of Fame

Eric Allen

While it was a slim night for the New Orleans Saints at the 2025 NFL Honors, there was something for the franchise to celebrate.

Six-time Pro Bowler and 1989 All-Pro cornerback Eric Allen was named to the 2025 NFL Hall of Fame class. Allen was a member of the Saints’ defense from 1995 through 1997, with ‘95 being his last career Pro Bowl season.

Allen’s reputation as a Hall of Fame cornerback certainly stems mostly from his time with the Philadelphia Eagles and then-Oakland Raiders, but the Saints get a chance to claim part of this win on an otherwise disappointing day.

The Saints did not see offensive lineman Jahri Evans inducted into the class, but that will now open up the chance for him and former quarterback Drew Brees to get in together next season.

Meanwhile defensive end Cameron Jordan, who was up for Walter Payton Man of the Year, unfortunately walked away empty-handed from the event, as well. However, Jordan was selected as this year’s 2025 Bart Starr award winner.

So in a night of disappointments for the Saints, Allen’s Hall of Fame nod counts as a deserved win.
