Former Tiger Arik Gilbert enters transfer portal for third time

Arik Gilbert is on the move once again.
According to Matt Zenitz of 247sports, the former five-star prospect and LSU tight end has entered the transfer portal.
Gilbert was arrested in August of 2023 following an incident at a liquor and vape shop in Lincoln. He left the Nebraska football program shortly after the arrest. In January of 2024, Gilbert was fined $400 and ordered to pay for the damage he caused at SJ’s Liquor and Vape Shop totaling $450.
He has not played football since 2022 when he played in three games for Georgia prior to transferring to Nebraska.
In eight games at LSU in 2020, Gilbert caught 35 passes for 368 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He’s made just two catches since.
