Grant Taylor is headed to The Show.
The former Tiger was called up by the Chicago White Sox from Double-A Birmingham where he posted a 1.01 ERA in 15 game, six starts. Taylor has struck out 37 hitters in 27.2 innings of work for the Barons.
The fireballing right hander was a second-round pick of the White Sox in 2023 after missing all of LSU’s national championship season with Tommy John Surgery. As a freshman in 2022, Taylor emerged as a real weapon for the Tigers in Jay Johnson’s first season. He made 17 appearances and struck out 39 hitters in 31 innings.
Taylor becomes the third member of the 2023 team to reach the big leagues, joining Paul Skenes and Dylan Crews.
He’s set to join the White Sox in Houston Monday night and should make his debut later this week.
