Friday Night Lines: How the Vegas lines have moved this week

By Chris Marler
We are less than 18 hours away from kickoff on week eight games in the SEC, and there has been some significant line movement from Vegas on the Saturday slate. Seven of the eight games saw line movement this week. The only game that didn’t was Vanderbilt playing host to Ball State.
But, the craziest part hasn’t been the line movement, it’s how significant the movement has been. All seven games featuring SEC conference matchups have moved by at least two points since they opened on Sunday. Three moved by at least 3.5 points, and two of those shifted so dramatically that the team who was an underdog when the line opened is now the favorite.
Perhaps the line that seems to stand out the most of all these games is South Carolina and Oklahoma. Oklahoma was a four-point favorite on Sunday as a home team facing a 3-3 South Carolina team that is coming off three straight losses to FBS opponents. However, Vegas doesn’t seem to care about the home field or the Gamecocks’ aforementioned record. The Gamecocks are now a one-point favorite on the road in Norman.
Here’s a look at the opening lines and the current lines for all eight SEC games this weekend.
