Georgia punter announces return for 2025 in funniest way possible
By Chris Marler
Over the past month, it feels like I’ve written roughly 29,874,308,123 articles about players entering the portal, committing to a team from the portal, declaring for the draft, deciding not to declare, and everything in between.
Those NFL draft announcement graphics have gotten out of hand. You know the ones I’m talking about—the ones posted by a player on your favorite team, who you’re hoping will return for one more season. There’s a picture or two of him on the left, accompanied by five paragraphs in six-point font on the right. You practically need a magnifying glass just to skim through the novel and find the news you’re looking for.
For some reason, this season brought a new trend of players announcing they were entering the draft—even when they had no eligibility remaining. To be honest, with the COVID year and the ever-changing rules and landscape of the sport, my first reaction is confusion, wondering whether the NCAA granted them an 11th year of eligibility.
