Halftime: LSU 17, Texas A&M 7

By Hunt Palmer
The battle for supremacy in the Southeastern Conference will be decided in the second half. LSU has been in control, but the lead is just 10, 17-7.
Both teams stuck to their identifies in the first 30 minutes. LSU churned up yardage through the air, using its entire pass catching arsenal and a steady offensive line. Texas A&M leaned on its powerful running game.
LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier completed 14 of 26 of his throws for 259 yards and two scores.
His gorgeous back pylon touchdown pass to Mason Taylor gave LSU an early 10-0 lead. That short scoring drive was set up by a Le’Veon Moss fumble in Aggie territory.
A&M responded, though, marching 75 yards on nine plays for a Moss touchdown. The Baton Rouge native has 54 yards on nine carries. His backfield partner Amari Daniels has chipped in with 38 more on seven attempts. The Aggies have run for 98 yards.
A&M’s pass rush hasn’t fazed the Tiger offensive line or Nussmeier. The Aggies haven’t registered a sack and have not been credited with a hurry. Nine different Tigers have caught Nussmeier’s 14 completions.
The biggest was the slant to Aaron Anderson who split the Aggie secondary for a 76-yard score.
The Tigers have squandered two scoring chances by missing long field goals. Damian Ramos missed from 48 and 49 yards.
A&M quarterback Conner Weigman has looked uncomfortable much of the game. He’s only completed five of his 14 attempts for 49 yards.
Texas A&M will get the football to begin the second half.
