Chris Hilton will not play in the season opener Sunday night.
The senior wide receiver missed much of the final two weeks of practice with a bone bruise. He progressed throughout the week, but ultimately the decision was made to hold him out of the game.
Redshirt freshman Kyle Parker has assumed Hilton’s duties in preparation for the game.
Hilton made the trip with the team but is in street clothes as the team warms up in Allegiant Stadium.
Last season Hilton caught 13 passes for 225 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He capped the year with season-highs of three receptions for 56 yards and a score in win the bowl win over Wisconsin.
