Tennessee fans have gone into the bye week with a pretty big smile on their face after last week’s, 24-17, win over arch-rival Alabama.
The good vibes kept rolling this week, as Volunteer fans got some more good news in regard to wide receiver Squirrel White.
White exited last Saturday’s game against Alabama with a shoulder injury that has been lingering throughout the season. However, head coach Josh Heupel shared an update on White’s injury this week with the media.
“I feel like Squirrel will be ready to roll when we get to the next football game,” Huepel said. “He was limited today. One of those guys that’s been dinged up a little bit. But he’ll be ready to roll.”
White is tied for the team lead in receptions this season with 20 and led the Volunteers in receptions and receiving yards a season ago. Over the last two seasons, he’s caught 87 total passes for over 1,000 yards receiving.
Tennessee plays former SEC East division rival Kentucky next week.
