METAIRIE, La. — The first injury report for Week 13’s New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams matchup has been released. A healthier Saints team looks to be on the way to the field on Sunday, however a pair of offensive linemen did not participate. The Saints run game will be a big factor towards any potential success New Orleans could find against the Rams, so those two names will be important ones to watch when the team returns to practice on Friday.
Here is the information from Wednesday’s injury report.
New Orleans Saints
Did Not Participate:
G/C Lucas Patrick (Calf)
C Erik McCoy (Groin)
Limited Participation:
RB Jamaal Williams (Groin)
TE Foster Moreau (Shoulder)
Full Participation:
LB Pete Werner (Hand)
DL Tanoh Kpassagnon (Achilles)
With McCoy and Patrick missing practice on Wednesday, the team will be hoping for improvement to their status on Friday. Without a practice on Thursday for the Thanksgiving holiday, the practice report will be estimated. If the Saints can get at least one of those players back on the field against the Rams, it will go a long way. With rookie interior defensive lineman Braden Fiske being so impactful throughout the season, shoring up the inside of the Saints’ protection unit could be vital.
Meanwhile, the Saints could be getting a key cog back into the wheel of their defensive line soon with Kpassagnon already participating in full as he works to return from the Physically Unable to Perform list. The versatile lineman could be a big boost for the No. 27 ranked pressure percentage defense.
Los Angeles Rams
Did Not Participate:
OL Alaric Jackson (Foot)
Limited Participation:
CB Charles Woods (Ankle)
TE Tyler Higbee (Knee)
Full Participation:
OL Rob Havenstein (Ankle)
OL KT Leveston (Ankle)
As for the Rams, they look to be getting healthier on the offensive line, which has been a patchwork unit over the course of the season thus far. If that unit is getting healthier, it could be challenging for New Orleans to get the pressure of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford that’s necessary to keep the Los Angeles offense from firing on all cylinders.
