Justin Reid thinks Saints culture is ‘right’

The benefit of adding Super Bowl winning players and coaches to a franchise is that the team gets to turn to those additions to help establish a winning culture in the facility.
The New Orleans Saints did just that this offseason by hiring former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator as their head coach fresh off of Philly’s Super Bowl victory.
What Moore has instilled so far as a coach has resonated to positive review by many Saints players.
In particular, one player with a pair of championship rings, safety Justin Reid, has been impressed by the approach.
“I’ve been on mediocre teams, I’ve been on bad teams, I’ve been on great teams,” Reid said following Thursday’s OTA practice. “And the culture in this locker room is right right now. We’ve got guys that believe in the system, that buy in. We don’t have bad character guys. And that’s the first step that you need in order to build a real team to go out and win.”
When players with rings recognize the culture in their new locker room, it’s generally a good sign. That’s not to say that New Orleans should expect to be Super Bowl bound in 2025. But laying the foundation for future success has to start sometime. Why not now?
“You can feel it immediately,” said Reid. “Day one of OTAs, they ran it like a college program with the amount of conditioning and attention to detail. But I kind of like things that way. It feels more true to the sport.”
The players and coaches are bought in. That much is clear. That’s a solid start for New Orleans as they undergo their changing identity.
