NEW ORLEANS, La. – During his Thursday media availability, Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore may have hinted at a possible staff addition, should he be offered and accept the New Orleans Saints head coach position.

When asked about his younger brother Kirby Moore, Missouri Tigers offensive coordinator, he praised his brother’s impact in helping to turn the SEC team around, but ended his compliment with a bit of an allusion.

“He’s done an awesome job,” Moore said. “I mean, they’ve had double digit wins the last two years to turn that thing around. Play at a really high level on offense. I know he’s going to have a lot of really good opportunities, you know, very shortly for himself.”

Very shortly may not be tongue-in-cheek. Kellen Moore is expected to become the Saints’ head coach very soon after the Super Bowl is wrapped up in New Orleans this weekend.

Kirby Moore has been the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Missouri the last two years. Before that, he coached wide receivers and then quarterbacks, before taking on the passing game coordinator and offensive coordinator roles with Fresno State.

The Saints currently don’t have a quarterbacks coach on staff, with former coach Andrew Janocko departing for the Seattle Seahawks. Kellen Moore could look to bring his younger brother along with him to New Orleans, along with some Eagles staff members such as former Saints quarterback Doug Nussmeier.

He will meet with the Saints on Monday for the third time. That meeting is expected to be one that seals the deal for Moore, or perhaps the Moores, to make their way to the Big Easy for a much longer stay than Super Bowl week.
