Kendre Miller headlines Saints inactives versus Tampa Bay

By Ross Jackson
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Saints have named their inactives ahead of their Week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Most of the absences had previously been ruled out.
Saints Week 6 Inactives:
QB Derek Carr (Oblique)
TE Taysom Hill (Rib)
LB Pete Werner (Hamstring)
RB Kendre Miller (Hamstring)
G Cesar Ruiz (Knee)
C/G Lucas Patrick (Chest)
DT Khristian Boyd
With Carr out, rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler will start in his place. Miller was activated on Saturday from Injured Reserve, but it looks like they’re not ready to get him rolling just yet. Feels like Thursday night against the Denver Broncos will be a realistic return timeline for him. Unfortunate, as the Saints may need some extra juice in the run game with Hill out again.
On Saturday, the Saints moved starting safety Will Harris Jr. to Injured Reserve with the hamstring injury he suffered against the Kansas City Chiefs last week. He does not count toward the inactive number having been moved to the injured list already. In his place, expect veteran safety Jonathan Abram to be the starter next to Tyrann Mathieu. Abram was elevated for game day from the practice squad along with offensive lineman Chris Reed.
New Orleans will likely start an all-backup interior offensive line. Starting left guard Lucas Patrick was set to be a gametime decision on Sunday, but being inactive, it looks like the team will go back to 2023 fourth-round pick Nick Saldiveri there.
