Kentucky wide receiver Barion Brown will enter portal
12/05/2024
Kentucky junior wide receiver Barion Brown has announced that he plans to enter the transfer portal.
Brown becomes the second starting wide receiver to announce the decision to leave the program in the last three days joining fellow junior Dane Key.
Brown is a former four-star, Top 100 recruit who has played in 37 games in his career in Lexington. He finished the 2024 season with 29 catches, 361 yards and three touchdowns.
In his career, Brown has amassed 122 receptions for over 1,500 yards and 11 touchdowns.
He’s also been an elite kick returner during his time at Kentucky. He holds the Kentucky record and is tied for the SEC records for most kickoff return touchdowns in a career (4) and season (3). Brown led the nation in 2023 in kickoff returns by averaging 36.0 yards per runback; that mark ranks 17th all-time in college football (since 1976) for a single season.
Brown combined with Key to account for 48.5 percent of Kentucky’s receiving yards this season. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
