Kirby Smart gives update on two injured Georgia starters

Georgia wide receiver Dillon Bell and running back Trevor Etienne missed some or all of Saturday’s game against Tennessee. Kirby Smart gave an update on two Georgia offensive starters Monday.
“We’re hoping to get (Etienne) back. That’s what I can tell you,” Smart said during his Monday press conference. “Ribs are a painful injury. I don’t know if that’s the exact term, but he does have a rib injury and we hope to get him back.”
Bell was able to suit up against the Vols but was knocked out of the game in the second half with an apparent ankle injury. The update on him seemed more optimistic with the possibility of a return before the end of the regular season.
“No update on Dillon, really,” Kirby Smart said. “I just ran into him a few minutes ago. Got an ankle sprain. It’s stable. Not going to require any sort of surgery. Hopeful to get him back. Same with Trevor.”
Etienne, a Florida transfer, leads the Bulldogs in rushing this season with 477 yards and seven touchdowns. Bell has been a bit of a jack of all trades for Georgia, ranking third on the team in receiving with 405 yards and four touchdowns while also gaining 106 yards and another score on the ground.
Georgia plays Massachusetts and Georgia Tech at home to close out the regular season.
