There wasn’t much movement on the New Orleans Saints and Washington Commanders’ second injury report of Week 15.
While the Commanders see some progress with rested players returning, the Saints participation holds strong.
Here is the information from Thursday’s injury report:
New Orleans Saints
Did Not Participate:
QB Derek Carr (Left Hand/Concussion)
WR Bub Means (Ankle)
RB Alvin Kamara (Illness)
LB D’Marco Jackson (Ankle)
Limited Participation:
TE Juwan Johnson (Foot)
Full Participation:
DE Tanoh Kpassagnon (Achilles)
There were no big changes for the Saints on Thursday. Carr and Jackson are both expected to be out throughout the practice week, and Kamara remained out with illness. The Saints won’t necessarily have to get their star running back on the field for practice in order for him to play on Sunday. However, getting him at least one day of reps would be great if possible. He’ll be one to watch on Friday.
Means will continue his work back during the 21-day practice window. It was unlikely that he would return this week, but next week should be a target for him. Meanwhile, Kpassagnon looks like he’s ready to be back out on the field. After a surprising non-return last week, this week would make a lot of sense for him to make his 2024 debut.
Washington Commanders
Did Not Participate:
WR Noah Brown (Kidney)
Limited Participation:
Clelin Ferrell (Knee/NIR(Rest))
S Quan Martin (Shoulder)
Full Participation:
TE Zach Ertz (Hamstring/NIR (Rest))
K Zane Gonzalez (Left Foot)
WR Jamison Crowder (Calf)
OLB Dante Fowler Jr. (Groin)
CB Noah Igbinoghene (Thumb)
CB Marshon Lattimore (Hamstring)
LB Jordan Magee (Elbow)
T Andrew Wylie (Gameday CPE)
The Commanders took some steps forward on Thursday, but they were expected steps. Ferrell and Ertz both missed Wednesday for rest, so it was no surprise to see them back on Thursday. While they were held out for rest purposes, each are still also dealing with ailments to watch.
The big loss for the Commanders right now is Brown. Without him, they’ll have to find who their second option will be in the passing game for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Expect Ertz to get a lot of attention on Sunday in that realm. However, if Washington is able to get their run game going, the passing game may not need an additional option than wide receiver Terry McLaurin.
