Kyren Lacy was booked into Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex Sunday. He was later released after posting bail.
The former LSU football standout was charged with hit-and-run driving with serious injury or death, reckless operation with accident, and negligent homicide.
According to a WAFB report, Lacy turned himself in at 6:34 p.m. and was released at 8:11 p.m. after posting bail in the amount of $151,000. Lacy was out of town when his arrest warrant was issued.
A Louisiana State Police report detailed the deadly crash from December 17, in which Lacy is alleged to have been driving recklessly and causing the accident that killed 78-year-old Herman Hall.
Lacy, a Thibodaux native, just finished his standout college career. After two seasons at UL-Lafayette, Lacy played the past three seasons at LSU. He led the Tigers in receptions and receiving yards in 2024 and is preparing for the NFL Draft.
Lacy’s agent issued a statement Friday, “We strongly believe that the facts will ultimately demonstrate the truth, but we respect the need for a full and thorough investigation.”
