A good sign for the New Orleans Saints as they return to practice ahead of their Week 3 tilt with the Philadelphia Eagles. Starting cornerback Marshon Lattimore, who missed last week’s game with a hamstring injury, was back at practice while the media was present.
Head coach Dennis Allen said after the game on Sunday that Lattimore wanted to get back on the field against the Dallas Cowboys, but Allen held him back. Allen did so with the caution of making sure that a smaller injury did not turn into a larger one, which proved to be beneficial.
This week, another big test comes to town for the Saints’ defense, even though Eagles’ top wide receiver A.J. Brown will not be available this weekend. Lattimore and the Saints defense should match up well.
Here is the attendance report form the portion of practice open to the media:
Not Seen:
TE Taysom Hill (Chest)
DT Khalen Saunders (Calf)
LB D’Marco Jackson (Calf)
OL Landon Young (Unknown)
Returning:
CB Marshon Lattimore
Observing:
RB Kendre Miller
It would be a bit of a surprise if Hill were available this weekend against the Eagles. Considering the caution the team used in Lattimore’s case last week, the same could be expected for their versatile weapon. That could signal the debut of undrafted free agent tight end Dallin Holker.
Young is a bit of a surprise, but more information will become available once the injury report is released later in the afternoon.
