LSU-Alabama set for 6:30 kickoff

A pair of two-loss teams will try to stay alive on a Saturday night in Death Valley.

The SEC announced on Monday that LSU and Alabama will kick off at 6:30 on November 9 in Baton Rouge.

A third loss for either would likely squash all hope of a birth in the first ever 12-team College Football Playoff. The winner will remain in the mix with three regular season games to play.

LSU defeated the Tide, 32-31, in the last matchup between the two teams in Tiger Stadium. Quarterback Jayden Daniels found tight end Mason Taylor on a two-point conversion to win in overtime. Alabama avenged the loss last season in Tuscaloosa. Both teams have an open date this weekend in preparation for the prime-time matchup on ABC.
