LSU drops to No. 8 in the latest baseball rankings

By Chris Marler
All losses aren’t created equal. That’s the lesson learned from this week’s polls.
Tennessee and LSU have been unanimously No. 1 and No. 2 in the country in nearly every major college baseball poll.
Last week, Tennessee became the unanimous No. 1 team in the country after leaping LSU despite the Tigers not losing a game. This week, the Vols hold onto their No. 1 ranking despite dropping a midweek game to East Tennessee State and one to Alabama while still securing a weekend series win over the Tide.
The Vols stayed at No. 1. However, LSU dropped to No. 8 after losing two of three to No. 8 Texas.
The top three spots in the poll were manned by SEC teams as Tennessee, Arkansas, and Georgia were No. 1 through 3. The SEC led the way once again this week with ten total teams included in the top 25 and all ten being ranked in the top 15 nationally.
