LSU planned for heat, took precautions prior to Saturday

Saturday’s scorcher in Tiger Stadium forced thousands to the exits during the game.
Forecasts called for temperatures in the low-90s and heat indices in the triple digits. While natives of South Louisiana deal with these temperatures for entire summers, they’re not often asked to sit on metal bleachers for four hours to do so.
As expected, there was a slight uptick in heat-related medical assists in and around Tiger Stadium on Saturday.
LSU officials tell LouisianaSports.net that extra precautions were taken.
Powerade was offering free drinks in the Fan Zone near the Maravich Center. Southern Air also had a cooling station with misters running.
It’s important to note that LSU does allow sealed water bottles to be brought into Tiger Stadium, and refill stations are in the top concourses of the north, east and west sides as well as the Skyline area.
Of course, the most effective way to beat the heat is playing games after the sun goes down. LSU has made night games a priority for decades.
LSU officials indicated that the SEC and its broadcast partners have been made aware of the school’s desire to play at night. Often times that is accommodated, but there are exceptions due to the slate of games that day and opposing television markets.
LSU appreciates any fan feedback on gameday experience through their surveys or by reaching out to the school directly.
